Ladies Section

It is a great honour to be asked to be Lady Captain 2026, and I am looking forward to representing Ashton-In-Makerfield Golf Club this year.
I have been a member since 2020, I joined the club when I retired so that I could play golf with my husband and as a hobby in retirement.
The Ladies Section is a wonderful section, everyone welcomed me with open arms when I joined the club, and I have made some fantastic friends. I love playing the course both socially and in the Ladies Competitions every Wednesday. The Section also hosts some great enjoyable events throughout the year.
My chosen charity this year is Willowbrook Hospice. It is a local charity based in St Helens.  I have chosen Willowbrook in memory of my friend Gail, who was cared for at the hospice. There will be a few fundraising events during the year and I hope we can help contribute to their funds this year.
We will be having all our usual Competitions every Wednesday and we will also be entering the Lancashire Ladies County Golf Association competitions with Scratch, Handicap and Bronze Teams and I hope you will support the Team Captains this year if you are available to play. It is a great opportunity to play at other clubs.
